The In-Chair (Wicked White) Whitening Process
Initial Teeth Cleaning
We recommend an initial teeth cleaning beforehand, as that will help remove any surface stains or built-up tartar. At a minimum, you should brush your teeth and avoid eating or drinking one to two hours before your appointment.
Teeth Whitening Process
When you are in the chair, our team will isolate and protect your gums and apply a whitening agent to your teeth. Then, you will sit with a UV light on your teeth for 15 minutes. Although you will notice a difference after your first visit, we typically recommend you book 3 or 4 appointments to notice a complete transformation.
Compare to Your Initial Shade
We will compare your smile shades from the start of whitening to after your appointments so you can marvel in the improvements for yourself.

Teeth Whitening or bleaching is a simple, safe, and non-invasive way to change the colour of your natural enamel. Teeth Whitening is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile quickly and easily.
Take-home whitening trays are custom-made to fit your teeth. A peroxide whitening gel is placed in the custom tray, and you will wear it daily for 30 minutes – an hour. Depending on each patient, you should see your teeth whitened in 5 – 10 days.
What is the Difference Between Professional Custom Whitening
and Over-the-Counter Whitening?
The difference between professional whitening and over-the-counter whitening is:
- Over-the-counter whitening has a much lower concentration of whitening gel, which means you likely will have to use the product for much longer than you would with a custom, dentist-administered product.
- Over-the-counter whitening is also affected by your saliva. If the whitening solution comes in contact with saliva, it will be washed away.
A professional tray system holds the solution against the teeth, preventing saliva from diluting it, making it much more efficient and effective. - Lastly, over-the-counter whitening strips are restricted to a generic length and width. A broad smile or larger-than-average teeth may not be whitened consistently, or your colour might look uneven.

- Try not to smoke – Smoking can dramatically stain your teeth
- Maintain good dental hygiene – brush and floss twice daily and come in for a check-up and cleaning every two months. Teeth-whitening toothpaste also helps to maintain the shine of your teeth.
Why Do My Teeth Darken?
Part of getting older and going through the natural aging process comes with the darkening and dulling of your teeth. Your teeth naturally start to appear more yellow as the enamel thins. The two different options for teeth whitening that Terra performs is:

In the office treatment is the Wicked White Pro Whitening that involves a translucent bleaching gel applied to the teeth, followed by a special activating light to harden the gel. The at-home process is usually more gradual and involves having whitening trays and a fluoride gel. A patient will put the gel into the trays and wear it based on Dr. Parchewskys recommendation after he is familiar with your teeth’s situation.
How Long Does Teeth Whitening Last?
Unfortunately, teeth whitening is not a permanent process, and you will have to be watchful about what you eat, as some items stain your teeth.
